Mac808 - All I can say is WOW...
Your truck is awesome and it sits perfect. I love the look of the 67-68 C10 when done right.
What width wheels and what size tires are you running?

Re: My Porterbuilt Experience...

Are the 1" drop blocks working out good for you? I have the same setup and was wondering if I should run blocks at all? 1" or 2" blocks?

Re: My Porterbuilt Experience...

SORRY GUYS!!!! Haven't been logging in as much as I'd like to recently!!

I apologize for the long absence and not replying/commenting to all of your posts! Planning and designing a huge home renovation, my father passing in July and finding out that we're expecting our first child has kept me a little busy.

Thanks to all of you guys for the kind words and compliments on Ruby! I've finally got around to answering 3 month old PM's and questions. Again, my apologies to everyone!

Needless to say, through all of this craziness, Ruby's been a little neglected and sitting under a cover the whole time. Despite everything, I managed to get her out and running last week (started up and drove like a champ, might I add) and got her to my buddy's shop for some quick maintenance and looking over to get her ready to get back on the road again.

So, as I mentioned previously months ago, I promise to get more pics of her up on the forum ASAP! Hopefully they'll be worth the wait...

Sorry for your loss and congratulations on the baby. Beautiful truck. Wish it had been around during my days in Hawaii, would have gotten into this addiction a lot sooner if I had seen your truck then. Would have loved to seen it cruising Sandy Beach or Alamoana.

Thanks nlped! It's a very strange and bittersweet emotion. Circle of life thing i guess - out with the old, in with the new. Life and death.

We are very excited about our first child but sad that grandpa won't be around to welcome him into the world.

Remember in so many societies, including the Polynesian, that a positive life force is never "gone"...but always there as a guardian. But I can totally understand the grief. But if you need some help working on it...I'd gladly come to the island and help

Sorry to hear about your loss. Not an easy things to go through. I wish you the best as you make adjustments to cope with the loss of your father.

Congrats on the new addition! You have experienced two of life's most challenging and rewarding milestones in such a brief amount of time: New life, and saying goodbye to a loved one. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Nate

Re: My Porterbuilt Experience...

Condolences and Congrats. Glad to see you're pulling the cover off of Ruby. Your documentation and willingness to share have been a great help to me as I've been installing many of the same components. Thanks and amazing truck! Hook us all up with those fresh pics when you get the chance!

On a sidenote, sure is nice to see the support of a board and vendor like PB as expressed above. Glad to be a part of it.

Thank you Nate. Your thoughts and kind words truly mean a lot to me. As I mentioned previously, I am completely and humbly overwhelmed and blown away at how much support and 'aloha' so many forum members here have expressed to me. I REALLY was not expecting it at all.

It is because of the support, understanding and compassion of people like all of you guys that really helps one pull through situations like this. It is also a true testament to the 'family' atmosphere that exists here that makes it a very special place to be a part of. You guys are a true class act. Thank you.

Thanks for the compliment sixSEVENcTen! I'm glad that I was able to contribute in some way. I know I feel like sending money to the others on this forum when they post up helpful pictorials or how-tos, or heck, even a gratuitous sexy shot of their beautiful truck Lol. The things I learn and the knowledge thats shared here is just incredible and has been a life saver many a times!

Its all about learning, sharing giving back on the best forums on the internet, whatever your hobby or interest, and 67-72 forums is definitely one of those rare finds where it is a true community of helpful, knowledgeable, like minded people with a common interest all willing to help each other out. I feel very blessed to be a part of it.

And yes, your last statement is SO true. For someone like Nate Porter who owns and represents such a successful, established and well respected company like Porterbuilt to chime in to express his sympathy to even a everyday-joe member like me just drives the point home as to what kind of great place it is to be a part of!
