Ignition switch \ alternator help

Addressing some wiring issues on the 66 I bought a few months ago and need some assistance. Original ignition switch had been replaced with a universal switch and separate starter button. Also should mention that a 10SI alternator has been put on this truck but PO left the factory external voltage regulator and just jumped the brown and blue wires on the regulator. I removed the external regulator and left the brown and blue wires connected that go to the field wire on the alternator, alternator is charging at 13.8 volts. I put an original style ignition switch back on but where I'm confused is there is no brown /w white wire to be found. Looking at the 66 wiring diagram, there should be a brown /w wire on the ACC connector on the switch. It shows that a brown /w connects to the brown wire at the GEN & FWD LAMP HARNESS CONNECTOR. Should I run a new wire from the ACC connector to the brown wire? Like I said, the alternator appears to be charging but was not sure if this was a valid circuit without the brown w/ white wire providing voltage from the ignition switch. TIA.
