Re: Surf Blue

The wife's been working weekends lately which means lots of progress for me. First off I received all of my Aeromotive -6 fuel line and fittings , and got my fuel cell plumbed and operating. Instead of ordering a cool cap from Air Ride tech, I found my own fuel cap that looks identical to theirs (minus the tree) at a local marine store for 25$, much cheaper than 50$ plus shipping. A small platform for it to mount on is still in the making ,but I enclosed a pic of it anyway. The stock fuel filler hole has been welded up ,worked, and primed. While I was at it I managed to get the truck to work ,and get the firewall, the inside, the jambs ,and the windshield pillars painted. Along with painting all that stuff I painted my brake booster black, and sprayed some Rhino liner on the floor ,and inside firewall of the cab. I wasn't really up to pulling the motor to paint the firewall , so I loosened the cab up ,and moved it back ,and up to give me plenty of room to spray around the motor. I'm sure I'll catch plenty of flack for doing it that way ,but as you can see it turned out just fine. That being said I wouldn't recommend doing it that way unless you have plenty of painting experience. So now I'm on to the bed. I've decided to widen my wheel tubs in the bed ,but I'm still tracking down some parts to really get going on that. Eventually I want to run some 20x12 rims out back so I've got to do something back ther to fit them. I managed to find some old pics that aren't in digital format of what the truck looked like in March of 06 when I bought it so I enclosed those as well. I'll post more when I get more done. ENJOY.

Thanks for all the compliments ,it helps me stay motivated. I'm getting a new windshield in the truck tomorrow. I'll try to post some pics after it's in ,along with some pics of the inside of the cab.

Re: Surf Blue

Pretty inspiring to see where your truck was in 06 vs where it is today. I've just started on mine and it looks a little (lot) worse than your 06 version. Thanks for the inspiration. BTW, that blue color is very nice. I was thinking about going with a similar blue...like...Miller Lite blue. Perhaps the fact that I always have a beer in my hand while working would explain that. Subliminal advertising?

Re: Surf Blue

One side of the tub project is done ,I widened them 3.5". I did the inner bedside mod also so I can fit the maximum wheel, tire. I'm starting on the other side soon. It took me about 10 hours to get the first side done. Hopefully the second side will go a little bit faster. Here's the only pic I have up so far,I'll post some more when I finish completely. (Along with a big thanks)

Re: Surf Blue

As posted above I got one side completed, and started on the other side of the tub project. I'm essentially done with the tub and bed floor on the other side as far as the metal work goes. Now I just have to take it to work to strip it and prime it. The inner bedside mod I did was a little more difficult than I expected don't really know why, it just worked out that way. Either way it is completed on one side as well, and now I'm starting on the other side. I've enclosed a pic of what I made to fit in there . It's not a mod I thought up or anything ,I've seen it done before on other trucks on this site.

I've got to give a big thanks to board member SCOTI as well. He volunteered his spare tubs ,so that I could get this done. This isn't the first thing he's helped me out on so in my book I owe him one ,or two.

Most of the dash is reassembled now, along with a shiny new windshield in place. The passenger side door is cut in and ready to go along with some freshly painted door latches as well. I also picked up some black carpet for areas where the factory carpet kit doesn't cover . Hopefully I'll get to that in the next few weeks. I moved the truck outside to get it out of the way so I snapped some pictures of it while I had it out. I'll post more later . ENJOY!

Your truck is simply stunning. I too find the stance to be just right. Not too low. Not to high. Keep feeding us the eye candy and we'll stay tuned. Great work.
