Now that I know how it looks I want one! lol LOVE the old farm truck look!
Here is a link to the build and poll. Everyone has a different opinion on how to do the stake sides of it.

As far as the wood goes, I put down 2x10 pressure treated boards. They will be durable, look good, and are easy to replace in 20-30 years if the truck lasts that long. Good enough for chevy is good enough for me! Drew

Well I searched Google and all kinds of other stuff and haven't found a single truck with that grill, so I don't have the slightest clue. I've never seen one like that.

62-63 c 60 (big truck) you can use 62 (half ton and up) bezels on it. i don't think they make them in aftermarket. i wish i had a set for you but i don't.

It is on 5" drop springs and the bump stops are sliced in about half and still clears.

I am switching to the 4" HD drops soon to get some of the sag out of it's rear.

If I can help or take picks for you let me know. I am about $200 into it all said and done.

I ordered 20' sticks of 3" but we had some scrap so let me get my figuring done here...

2 8' Rails out of 3" C
5 6' Crosssills out of 3" C
2 8" Side caps out of 3" flat stock
Riser Spacer Thingys out of 5" about 8-9' total (Taken out of Scrap Pile)
2.5" (call it three to be safe) inch stake pockets x14 (3 front and rear, 4 on each side) out of 4" Stock is 42"

so about:
46' of 3" C (6' was in the scrap pile)
16' of 3" flat Stock
8' of 5" C (again scrap)
4' of 4" C (again scrap)

My metal order for the 40' of 3"C and 20' of 3" flat stock was 88$

The only note is that for the 4" stake pockets to work the 2x4 wood had to be ripped to make it more narrow and cut the corners off because 4" C isn't 4 inches inside and the corners are rounded.

Truck is looking good. Got the bed wood stained and have been using it. Running into what i think is a fuel issue. The truck lugs a bit. Similar to running out of fuel. I am thinking fuel pump but haven't had time to look into it.

Re: 64 BBW LWB Fleet... project

8 years later and I am still working on this truck. Life changes have included marriage, custody of my two step-sons, addition of a daughter and son. We are up to four kids and my wife went back to school. Life couldn't be better honestly.

I drove the truck from MS to AL with all of my shop tools in the back. It cruised over at 55mph the whole way with few problems. The engine was down on power for sure.

Since then, I have torn down the front end, pulled the engine, painted, added a brake booster, new brake internals/turned drums, and sent the later model 250 off to be rebuilt.

1 MAJOR problem. I bag'd and tag'd every nut and bolt and organized them. The dog then took the whole container in the back yard and chewed open every bag and dropped nuts and bolts all over God's creation. A magnet sweeper found most of them. The lawn mower found a few more.

I can't find a nut and bolt diagram anywhere. I need to remount the engine mounts and have no idea what sizes to use. Any help would be appreciated. Pictures tomorrow.
