1st. Blazer protoype!
I just found this, is supposed to be the prototype for the first blazer and it was first called trailblazer, should be an interesting discussion topic.

I think it's a George Barris custom for Chitti Chitti Bang Bang, or maybe Mary Poppins!! If that's really the prototype, I like what it evolved into a whole lot better, but it is an interesting conversation topic.

If you pick up the current issue of Classic Trucks it has a picture of what the original Blazer was suppose to look like before GM dropped the idea to only pick it up later with a modified pickup design. It looks a little like the one in the pictures above, but I didn't read about them naming it the Trailblazer.

I don't know a thing about it, but the trail blazer sticker looks too contemporary, maybe from one of the new trail blazers they are now making? I like the 69-72 style much better than what ever that thing is.

I can remember when the Blazer was called a Trail Blazer, but never looked like that..........You sure that's not a Big Daddy design.....?

Here's a picture of that Blazer 1971stepside was talking about. This Blazer was all tooled up and ready for production. GM pulled the plug at the last minute.
That trailblazer shown at the top of this post was some sort of concept vehicle. I don't think it was actually a prototype as such.

The emblem on the back of that red thing is also a production Blazer emblem with the K/5 cut off. I think they are trying to pull a fast one by passing that thing off as a predecessor to the Blazer.
