Bumper moved when jacking up truck.

I put a jack under the lower control arm to work on brakes and the bumper moved. Is this normal?

Yes. It should go "up".

Re: Bumper moved when jacking up truck.

Well know Keith has me wondering exactly what you meant when you said it moved...
In relationship to the ground...or did it move on the truck itself?

Re: Bumper moved when jacking up truck.

It moved up in relation to the grill. I’ll get pic in a few days. I’m working on another car and forget to jack it this one up again.

I'm not an expert by any means - but its like your frame flexed and one side of the bumper moved up (shrunk the gap between it and the grill) - I'd bet the other side flexed down a bit in relation to the grill.

I do know the frames on these flex a lot more than I am used to... could it be just that?

Re: Bumper moved when jacking up truck.

The truck has a 5.3 and 4L60e. Just finished the swap about 3 weeks ago. Works great but working out details.
