Hood to cowl seal question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Anybody that has a '55-'59 could someone look at the weatherstrip seal that's at the back of the hood and tell me if the opening faces the front of the truck or if it faces the windshield?
To make it simple, the seal is like an "L" when you're looking at it from the side...I need to know if the "bottom of the "L" (when looking at it from the drivers side) points toward the cab like the "L" shown, or toward the front, as if the "L" is mirrored.

Just walked out and checked my 56. The opening faces the rear.
