Engine Wiring Verification

I'm wiring my 69 P/U with a 400 sbc and just want someone to verify that the way I'm wiring the engine is correct. On the engine wiring harness that plugs into the firewall I have a big purple wire that will run to the starter, a small green wire that is the temp sending unit and a small yellowish that plugs in up near the master cylinder. The black wire that is fabric coated and splits into 2 yellows is not needed since I'm running an HEI that I have powered from the fuse box. Is this correct?

Re: Engine Wiring Verification

I think that's correct, the yellow's would go from the starter to the points style distributor which you've eliminated by using the HEI.
