upper power steering pump bracket

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would know if there's a company that makes a power steering bracket where the pump would sit up high.I want to keep the original generator in its original spot.I have a 235 6 cylinder. thank you

Re: upper power steering pump bracket

I don't know anything about this outfit and the kit isn't just a bracket it is the whole setup to put the pump on the 235 and operate it. It shows an alterator but that should't be an issue. https://benchworksteering.com/produc...ring-pump-kit/

I see they have the compete kit but that is real spendy https://benchworksteering.com/produc...sion-gear-kit/

Re: upper power steering pump bracket

$350 for a simple flat bracket??? wtf?

if you can use a grinder and drill that bracket could be easily made for less than $15

Re: upper power steering pump bracket

Would you be able to use the old style power steering pump on the rear of a generator? You may have already considered this.

That 350 buys a new pump, all the brackets and pulleys and I think the belt to do the install. Still a bit on the spendy side but it probably saves a day or two's worth of time hunting for the right pulley or searching for a belt or stopping to ask and wait for a suggestion for a fix.

As far as those generators with the pump go. I remember working on one about 40 years ago and swore that I would never upon never work on another one. Plus the guys who have that setup for sale usually think they are worth more than the cost of that kit.

Re: upper power steering pump bracket

Mike, I was also thinking about if the old style would work. Does anyone know if it would with a modern type of steering box?
