STD swing away tire carrier

Does anyone have the instructions for installing the swing away tire carrier. I have seen a few guys who had a copy of the plans and I blow it up on my computer and all is good except I cannot see the dimension for the top bracket that mounts on the upper fender. Does anyone know that dimension from the top of fender to the bracket? It is some where between 1 inch to 2 inches. I installed one 45 years ago but can't remember or cannot see it on the plan that has been posted. All that is left to complete this restoration is to mount the swing away tire carrier. It is a 1972 k5 black Highlander orange plaid interior. I will post a bunch of pics when complete.
