Belt question.

Tomorrow I will be removing my AIR pump and A/C compressor and a bunch of other useless stuff.

The A/C compressor belt I can just remove. The belt that powers the AIR pump and the alternator will need to be replaced with a shorter one.

So what is a good part number or measurement of the new shorter belt?

Am I missing something with this belt setup? All I want is water pump, ALT, Power steering pump.

P.S Forgot to add this is in a 74 C/10 with a 350/350 combo

Re: Belt question.

I just did this on my big block. I used a string to measure the belt I needed and cross checked it with the power steering/water pump/crank. They measured the same so I just bought an extra belt for that. It worked great!

Re: Belt question.

Re: Belt question.

That's what I did when I eliminated a smog pump, (1/2 alt. adjustment) then see what you get.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.
