Hey, I was wondering what you all think about a 71 SWB 4x4 redone top to bottom. The VIN codes show it was a 2 wd stepside. I am a little concerned that this will affect the value later on! Any opinions? If anyone knows of an original 71-72 SWB 4x4 with all the goodies I would be interested in taking a look at them. Thanks Lash

if the vin says its a 2wd than its probaly a 2wd converted to a 4x4, which make the value alot less

Or it could have been a 2wd cab put on a 4wd chassis.

I think it would increase the value of the truck unless u are looking for factory orginal truck. Around here a 4x4 will always bring more than a 2 wheeler.

An example of what Mudder67 said is my truck. 68 4x2 cab on a 70 4x4 frame. I took the plate and glove box door off my 4x4 cab and put it on the 4x2 cab. So far no probs with the law.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
