1971 5.5/7 drop with 20x8

Is anyone running 5.5/7 drop with 20x8 wheels? I am trying to see if they will fit or if I should go 4.5/6 to fit 20x8.

Also, not sure if this is a suspension or tire question or both so I decided to post here first.

It all depends on wheel backspacing and total tire height.
Try to keep the tire height at 26"-27" and you should be able to run stock inner fender.
If I was running a 20x8 wheel up front,... I would use at least a 5" backspace.

Thanks for the input! I'll keep digging around a bit to see if I am going to commit to 20 or just run 18.

I like 20's up front.
Run a 245/40-20 tire and you'll be set.
I like 255/40-20's on a 20x8.5 wheel.

That was the tire size I am eyeing right now, and possibly 295/40/20 for the rears. I am just slightly worried about rubbing in the front on the fender liner.

Your old rig looks like the stance I am going for! Nice work!
