That's right. Here in Arkansas our reg gas is now under $2 a gallon at many locations. Any guesses how much lower it will go? From what the news says it appears OPEC might be breaking up. Qatar said it was pulling out of OPEC.
Saudis swear to keep pumping the oil in spite of oil glut driving the prices further down. They boast they don't owe anybody a dime and can take the losses.

Just got back from a 3000 mile road trip. Washington, Oregon, California, and Arizona. Never paid below 3 bucks a gallon, and a couple spots over 4 bucks.

Some say high oil prices= healthy stock market. I would think just the opposite. The less we spend on fuel and oil byproducts the more we have to spend on other necessities. But what do I know?

Still $2.99 here, but for whatever reason, Utah seems to lag behind in price drops (actually, we lag behind in most things). We do always seem to right on time with the increases, though

Ours came down 12 cents a week or two back, currently $3.77 (cash price; add 12 cents for credit cards) for 87 octane.

Washington State gas prices are heavily taxed.

Finally under $3.00 a gal. here. Costco was $2.89.
A little break for the Holidays I guess.

"healthy stock market" = some brokers making money, imo; not good for the consumer.

So your 2 bucks a gallon is 50 cents a litre US. Which is about 65 cents a litre in Canuck bucks.
I haven’t seen prices like that since 1999!
We pay closer to a buck fifty a litre now in Canuck bucks.
You guys are gonna be in a real pickle when your prices start to match what the rest of the world pays!
Enjoy it for now. It won’t last forever.

Our regular is about $2.25........... .9 (can't forget the .9). Once into Virginia an hour or more from Washington, DC it drops about $.30 and once into Pennsylvania it's up $.30. On I-81 MD is only 5 miles wide. In that distance price difference is $.60. I think it's all in the taxes.

Oil producers have been putting their heads together and finding more efficient ways to produce crude oil/gas...Not sure if any government policies are encouraging this deal, BUT you can bet that the wheels in charge have confidence that they won't get hammered for ANY stupid reason, as previous administrations have...Carter implemented a windfall profit tax, said oil companies were making TOO much money.

I think it has more to do with high oil prices = high demand = industry is alive and kicking?

I'd love to see it go down to $1.00 per gallon and stay that way for a couple of years!

I recall back in 1998 or 1999 it was 0.87 cents on the gallon in Greenville, NC. That's back when I was trying to buy this 1975 Pontiac Catalina from a guy.....

We have a few stations here that are at $1.98 a gallon.. but the average in town is around 2.25. I'm diggin' it!

It's 2.65 for regular (10% ethanol) around here. And we have oil fields in Utah and Wyoming and four refineries that are local to us.
