WTB Choke Thermostat for 69 Rochester 2GV on 307 V8

All righty then. I have hit up all the parts stores, resto places, etc. No one has this thing, it has passed into obsolecense.

I need the choke thermostat (bimetallic coil), choke stove (cover), and the linkage if you have it. This is the divorced (mounts on intake manifold) choke for the Rochester 2GV carburetor on my '69 with 307 V8.

Attached is a pic of where it goes. You can see the screw holes and one screw left in there:

Re: WTB Choke Thermostat for 69 Rochester 2GV on 307 V8

I have bought the coils from LMC and NAPA. I have bought the choke covers from other vendors. I have made the rod from coat hangers. When you go to NAPA you have to use part numbers from their 1971 parts book. They have none older unless you ar lucky enough to find one that has kept the old books. If all else fials, try calling the NAPA store in Randolph, Vermont or the one in Lebanon, Newhampshire.
Good luck.

I bought one from NAPA about 8 years ago. If you don't have any luck with them, I'll see if I still have the receipt and part number.

The NAPA CRB2293 crosses with:
Wells E603 (obsolete)
Standard CV11 (obsolete)
Borg Warner TH11 (obsolete)

No one can get these things. Even LMC's listing only shows 71-72. To me it appears that the base is different on the one I need as compared to the only one I have found online (it has only one mounting hole, my manifold has two that flank the coil spring).

I will probably end up building some sort of adapter plate to mount a different one, or if I can buy some sort of electric choke that will divorce mount I might do that. I had wanted to take it back to stock but it looks like that might be impossible.

Doesn't anyone still run this carburetor?

Check with a speedshop Edelbrock makes them, they purchased all the molds and rights from GM for the Qjets. The divorced choke and cover are sold separately. I am sure the online places like Jegs carry them as well.

PMing you.

I went ahead and ordered the newer style for 71-72 as well, will probably have to adapt it. I will update when I get it.

No idea but I don't see why you couldn't fab something up. I was simply hoping to get a bolt-in part without doing any fab work but things don't always work out like that.
