Trans swap, remove bell housing crossmember?

I'm swapping the trans out in my 69 C10 from a np833 to a th400. The np was hooked up to a bell housing crossmember. I am going to use a CPP crossmember on the th400, do I need to remove the old crossmember for it to fit? If not I'd like to leave it for rigidity purposes.
Thanks

You'll need to take that out, don't worry about strength you have enough
