Who said these trucks are funny anyway? This is some serious uniqueness that can make you laugh, that's all! wait! I think I meant to post this in WTH. Oh well, I'll do both. It's a WTH unique something or other

You should see the Karmann Ghia running around with a Bus hiney stuck on it.
Definitely unique.....a lot of time spent on it. My question is WHY?

That poor Karman Ghia was probably thinking, "Why, Lord? What did I do?"

Re: Unique trucks...

Something about Karmann Ghia convertibles. When I was a kid my dad had a rotted out convertible he ended up cutting in half through the rockers. We dumped one half in one direction, toward the city, and the other half in the other direction, out in the boonies. They finished rusting away in those places.

Ehh, I guess this is kinda unique. I haven't seen one lately. Might even be fun to drive. Seems kinda cool to me but what do I know? Formula COE?

Re: Unique trucks...

That looks like an old International COE. I used to drive one of those with a propane engine - it was a total piece of garbage. Still, it brings back memories.

I drove IH school buses with the 345 V8. I thought they were great. Lots of torque. It was regular gasoline, though.

Reminds me a little of this truck "Heavy Metal" from Gearz.

Re: Unique trucks...

That's the same International model cab, Loadstar 1600 COE. Both are really cool trucks, and unique! That 345 is one heck of a well built motor. Makes a 350 look like a toy, kind of like the GMC V6s. The earlier ones look cooler. The third picture is a modern International I'm not familiar with. I think it's Australian

Re: Unique trucks...

That's the one. The 345 may have been a strong gas motor, but when they're tired and running on propane, they really can't haul. Pulling a 26 foot pup, top speed was about 50 on the trucks in our fleet, and they took all day to get there. The one advantage they had is that with that short wheelbase, you could spot a trailer anywhere.

Re: Unique trucks...

OK, so the body's not a truck, but the frame is. Special-K's last post reminded me of this one that's been for sale locally for at least a year. I'm not sure why it hasn't sold...

Re: Unique trucks...

How much for just the frame/keep the body? I think the mud flaps are turning the Camaro guys off. This is a 4wd I'd want to see a roll bar in, for sure

It's probably a very nice chassis but $10k is too much, especially with having that body to remove and deal with

So, you have your garden variety car turned into a truck. But how about a truck turned into a car?

He should have painted it all one color so no one could tell it's home-built

Actually, it's still a truck. A poor man's utility bed. It has compartments and access doors.
