Thanks N2TRUX. Do you have any idea how some guys modify them to look more like the 71-72? I found a set for $100 that I am going to look at for the 71 burb I just picked up. Any one know what I would have to do to make them fit?

To mount them, I had to go out to the junk yard at 2pm in the afternoon, in July, when the temperature was 105 degrees, with a hammer and a cold chisel, and beat the brackets below out of a Suburban! (I had to get that in there...it was miserable that day and one I'll never forget!)

Those brackets are essential. I've seen some photos of some here who fabricated their own. I tried it, but as my wife reminds me often...I aspire to be Bob Villa, but in reality, I'm more like Tim "The Toolman" Taylor.

Cleaned them up, did some measurements, tacked them in place several times until they were just right, then welded them down. Had to drill a hole for one of the rears on each side, as well. The outside track hole lines up perfectly with existing hole/thread for bench seats.

bruthaman, dont feel bad. I had a similar experience getting mine. The elements werent in my favor, as it was about to rain. I took a dremmel (shoulda known it wouldnt bust the welds), a portable sawzall (battery died on me) and finally bfh and a chisel. After what seemed like hours of whacking, I had my brackets. Then I got to walk the country mile outa the parts yard in the rain.

Just so I dont stray to far off topic, heres an interior shot Ive been using for inspiration. This truck was previously owned by a few different people on this board.

Id show you mine, but I think you can picture it. Just take away all the nice stuff from these other pictures, like seat covers and carpet and most of the interior trim.

I think youve pretty much got it BB. As long as you have the brackets, and use the one outside hole that you do have as a guide to line things up, its pretty straight forward.

here are the brackets on the bottom of the seat:

here's the outside seat track installed. Yeah it took a little bending.

and heres the pics of everything installed. I think I went back after this pic was taken and tweeked the brackets so it would sit more even with the floor.

Hope this helps somehow. Im going to be doing a more complete writeup on it as soon as I can afford some seat covers and a carpet... darn bills lol

Those seats are stunning! Good to hear your story on getting those mounts...glad I'm not the only one that "suffered" getting them. Well worth the effort, in the end!

N2TRUX; The picture you have of the brown interior looks almost identical to my Gentleman Jim.

Only a few small differences. Just thought I'd share, since I don't have any pictures of my interior right now.

I picked up some buckets today and need advise. The guy kept me waiting 30 minutes extra while he was at lunch so I missed some things I found tonight. Please see the pics of the rust to the frame and tell me if it is repairable. I also realized the lid and stainless trim to the console may not be correct for the console. The last thing is I had them load the seats since I was in work clothes and did not realize they were missing brackets on the passenger side. I don't think the brakets are going to be a prob because it is my understanding I need 67-72 brackets just not sure if thee are special ones for burbs. What do yall think?

Last ones. I love the look. I know it is going to be a lot of money to redo all the seats but it should look great.

That center console lid looks almost right... but for some reason I want to say it looks like it's installed backwards.

Yeah, that console lid does look off. should be raised above the level of the cupholders.

BB: Are you switching from a bench to buckets??
