CL Interior Score

Too bad I didn't get the rest of the truck first. From new carpet, new dash pad, new door panels, visors and seat. All In black. I just guess it was time to take out the haringbone pattern seat. Only thig I missing is the armrests.
Not too bad for $250. I was going to get the billit dash bezel but..... I don't think I care for it.

Re: CL Interior Score

You bet. This weekend is supposed to be real nice weather for the project. Some or all of the pieces are aftermarket so there may be some after market questions along the way. The interior I have is not thrashed by any means, just a bit weather worn with time so it's basic update.

Re: CL Interior Score

Well I began working on the interior change today. Nothing like original equipment for fit (Read on). I can appreciate that now.

I got as far as the carpet intallation today. The carpet that came with the score was and aftermarket full length, molded to fit in black. The fitment was pretty good but the pre-molded center was a little high. So I plan on adding another piece of felt padding over the hump to take out some sag unless someone has another plan. The carpet kit came with padding attatched to the back side but was pretty thin so I ran up the a carpet store and they just happen to have some felt padding that I added. The sides were stitched so I didn't want to trim that off just yet with no kick panels in hand.

I also started on the door panel replacements. I found out you will want new window seals at the same time. Trying to remove the clips on the seals of the old panels does not work well as the old panels will break up. I don't think I wanna try that twice on the new panels so I'll be ordering new seals for the new panels this week. The panels also have a bit of a fitment issue also. I have an 80 model so the interior door handle is a little thicker than the earlier models from what I can see, so the new door panels will need some trimming there. The screw behind the door handle does not line up so there may need to some modifications there too.

The new black visors fit like a glove, so they get a thumbs up

I also remeoved the tracks from the replacement seat and bead blasted them and a quick coat of fresh paint. Ready for lube and instllation tomorrow. The seat tracks are missing the helper spring and the piano wire to release the right side, but I think I have another. The original seat I'm taking out is actually in very nice condition. It only has 56K Azz miles on it, just a little dated. The dents are from a box of the wifes closet books so I think they will come out with time and a little warm sun.

You asked for pics so here's the old for now.
