Rolled my Vette today but just to take out the IRS and I might of bent the torque tube/bar. Only other problem was the brake cables.

Re: Rolled my Vette!!

Doesn't that driveshaft unbolt" I think I would have pulled it and the torque arm out before dropping the rear axle out.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Rolled my Vette!!

Hi SoftPatch it's one of the 7 Masseys I've rebuilt since retiring, the sad part is I've still got 6 of them. Kinda burnt out on tractors--- kinda! It's a hard habit to break so I hope my truck starts a new past time to go with my 4 day a week golf habit. Putting urethane bushing in before install and would like to use the stock c4 vette front cross member.

Re: Rolled my Vette!!

It's a TF 57 big window 3100. Here are some pics of me pulling the engine (307) and tranny. I've got it on my engine stand that I dug out of the scrap pile and painted plus added new gauges.

Re: Rolled my Vette!!

love it. work smarter not harder! I know a guy here in town so ocd about stuff he would probably level the chassis and use a torque wrench to take the rear end OUT, and instagram every single bolt. he doesnt finish a lot haha.

I am jealous of your big window TF too. I think that may be the next truck for me.

Re: Rolled my Vette!!

Those torque arms are curved like that somewhat because they bolt to the side of the trans for driveshaft clearance.
I have an 86, and I noticed it on mine.
You are going to modify it or throw it away anyway, so don't worry about it.
At the very least, you are going to shorten it about a foot.
