Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I had forgotten about this one. I was out running around with work a few years ago and happened to see this one driving down the street. I turned around and followed it until he parked. He was a nice guy. It's a local truck, but this is the only time I've ever seen it.

It's the orange fleetside twin brother of your stepside.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I'm not sure of all the similarities but the first things I noticed were the Caddy front clip and bumper. Then the tail lights, but yours are in the tailgate.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

The Caddy clip and the fact that they're regular cabs and have shaved taillights and tailgates... Those are the main similarities. I never liked the cowl hood for these, so I don't have one. My front bumper is narrowed to tuck under the fenders, which have been trimmed to allow it. Mirrors are different and I have door handles. This truck has a shaved license plate. It has the LED strips for taillights, but if you look closely, you can see a shadow from the lenses being not-quite flush. Mine are so flush you can barely feel them. I'm not sure if I like how they ended the upper bodyline on the sides before the bed corners and shaved it completely off of the tailgate. This truck is on 18/20 wheels vs. my 19/20 combo. Then mine is on air, so it's a bit lower than this static truck.

Those are the basics.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Just the basics, eh? I did notice the shaved bodyline...I've never been a fan of shaving bodylines at all. I think it takes away from the look of the truck. And somehow I didn't catch the shaved handles lol. I definitely think yours looks better, but the orange one isn't bad. Definitely a lot of work put into it.

It depends on the truck for me. Sometimes a shaved upper line can look good, but the shaved lower line usually doesn't to me. I just don't understand the point of shaving the upper line on the tailgate and bed corners. I really don't even think I noticed the bodyline when I took these pics. I wish I had, so I might have asked him about it.

Here's an interesting bodyline trick for you. This was a Texas Heatwave in like '98 or '99 maybe. I saw this truck in person at another show. It was pretty interesting.

Thanks. Tires were "fun" at about $500 each.

Thanks. I always wanted a lowered dually. My dad had a 94 that had a 3/5 drop when I was younger and I fell in love.

Looks good. I would love a clean regular cab dually for a driver.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Got mine back after wrecking it a month and a half ago, finally!

I am loving the look of the new grille and bumper. Now we need to start thinking about the stance.

I am toying with the notion of bagging it and throwing some 3" drop belltech spindles on the front then running the bags close to stock height.

Looking at a Thorbecke Brothers 4 link in the rear with a panhard, simple and effective.

if I do going to control the whole thing with an accuair controller.
