truck cover -- what to do about bed

This is probably a dumb question, but what options do I have for using a truck cover outdoors, but keeping the cover from water pooling in the bed when it rains and pulling the cover too tight? I don't want to install a tonneau cover, if I can avoid it. Thank you.

Re: truck cover -- what to do about bed

My advice is not to cheap out on the cover.if ya decide you really need one.
If it's gotta be outside and get wet don't even put a cover on it.
Buffeting from the wind will scratch the paint eventually especially if it's moist or been on for a while.
Have you ever seen a car/truck that sat outside under even a expensive cover for over a week or two? The dirt/dust will still get on the vehicle.
add moisture/humidity and and dust /dirt it's a perfect environment for rust.
A cover WILL hold Moisture more so than no cover.
And No cover will be "water proof" so a breathable one is best to let the moisture evaporate.

If ya don't have nice paint and are workin on a project just use a big tarp. Take it off and let it air out often.
A tarp on a dirt/gravel floor is terrible IF the ground under the vehicle can get wet often and hold moisture.

Again this is just my advice.

If you choose to use a cover one or two of these might answer your question.

You DEFINITELY don't want to use a tarp. To many reasons to even list here, but they're not that hard to figure out

As far as the pooling goes, short of laying a piece of plywood across the top of your bedrails, the sawhorses are probably your best bet

Unhappy Re: truck cover -- what to do about bed

I thought years ago I wanted a cover. I found out really quick that it wasn't what I thought it would be. Mine was a daily driver so every morning I had to take it off and afternoon put it on. When it rained it was like 30lbs of water and then you had to let it dry out. Freezing rain was the worst it was so bad I couldn't get it off the truck the next morning. I finally threw a $250.00 cover in the trash and never looked back.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
