Cool. I was thinking of cutting up a tire sidewall for a couple other things... guess it would work for this. Lol

I think I will do the same thing. I have a box cutter and plenty of junk tires.

I think I used a tire sidewall or truck inner tube under mine. You have to be real careful that you don't over do it though as that is one of the critical adjustments on getting your front end sheetmetal on right.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
