Roof header hole

This hole between the visors appears to be factory.

Is this for mirror attachment?
I know a '72 should have had a windshield mounted mirror.

I see no indication that any mirror was attached to the glass. The PO had screwed a bracket and non-oe mirror to this threaded hole.

Re: Roof header hole

That is a factory hole. Mine has a screw in it. Don't know what the screw holds in place.
Someone drilled two extra holes by the mirror mount, but i hide them with a fridge magnet.

Re: Roof header hole

I have the same thing on my 1968, and it too has the big phillips screw in it.
No idea what it's original intent was for, but have always wondered.
