Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

Did some small stuff today. For one painted the red msd box that was driving me crazy under the hood.

Painted 2 or the wheels

This baby blue primer from the PO looks so bad. I sanded on it with some 320 then some finer stuff i had. not sure what grit. it came off pretty easy. I want to leave it alone it was just sprayed and prepped so bad it looks horrible

Got my sticker on.

And ive been trying back into drawing again. I dont know if theres anyone into the style I enjoy doing on here but Ill post acouple any way lol

Enjoy the weekend folks!

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

Are you running an hei distributor? I also hate how those msd boxes stand out in an engine Bay unless it's a performance car or ssomething. The wheels will look good in black. You could grind your white walls a little wider. Your art work looks great. Very traditional tattoo style.

Can those boxes run a hei distributor? I know that sounds dumb but I dont really know how to use one of thos boxes. Ive always ran hei and thats what it appears to be. Makes me sound dumb lol I always build cruisers and run just an hei and never had to install one. Does the white walls look good when done like that ? seems like they would look rough up close?? I love traditional tattoos lol

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

You don't need the msd box at all with an hei. All it takes is the power wire to the distributor. If you have an hei distributor you can ditch the whole msd box. The white walls look pretty good when Done. But not perfect up close. Plenty of YouTube videos on it.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

Ya Ive always just ran one wire. I think next year I may go to a set of radir wheels with bias ply whitewalls. Daily the steelies and cruise and show the radirs.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

Quick photoshops. Heres the deal. Ultimately I would like to have the car satin black with a gold metal flake roof with radirs and fat white walls. I dont wanna throw down the money yet. I also dont want to take the car to shows or cruises with the poorly done baby blue where bpeople think I like it lol Some Im trying to figure out what to do. Honestly right now im leaning towards just some grey primer and a white roof. Idk tho my mind will change in 2 minutes. Opinions thoughts?

chime in on thoughts please!!

a couple of it with the steelies black

Black with white top for sure. You can paint the top first and work your way down.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

I honestly like the color it is now the best. Maybe just clean the paint up or roll it how it sits and not worry about scratches, dings and blemishes. Also who cares what other people think its your car not theirs.

I like the black/white...but she's sweet how she sits now too. Don't worry much about what other people say- most of them couldn't do half of what you've done anyway!!!

Unknown Hinson; you listen to him and think he's nuts, but he's probably a genius. I'm not into everything he does, but some of his stuff will make you die laughing.

As for your color; I like the yellow, my least favorite is the gray. I do also like the color it is now.

He puts on a hell of a show. I was lucky enough to see him in Tulsa, Ok. It was awesome. I will post a couple pics after work.

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

HELP!! Put on my new cpp driveshaft and still getting a clunking.! Im not sure what to check. The old telescoping driveshaft had side to side play in It. I was sure that was it. I reached up under the car lastnight after it clunked again and the cpp driveshaft doesn't seem to have play. the front shaft seemed to move some tho. ? It sounded louder leading me to believe it has something to do with the driveshaft still since it was the only thing changed. The clunk is loud and consistent whenrunning about 40mph or above. The old shaft was assembled by me. New u joints, cpp aluminum poly bearing, installed and torqued with the weight on the wheels as recommended. DRiveshaft shop re assembled and balanced driveshaft I installed still clunking. Installed the cpp rear shaft still clunking. Ideas? Never had this issue before. Its almost impossible to tell where the noise is coming from. After work im going to put it up in the air and put it in drive to try and hear it. Im not to optimistic it will help tho as it seems it needs a load on it.

Transmission guys. Could it do something with the output shaft?? I don't really know transmissions at all and Im just curious.

Does the slip yolk going into the transmission have enough of it inside the trans?

Re: !964 Biscayne. Birdie Sue.

yes. Honestly if anything its in too far. could that be an issue as well? Its the same length as the factory one was. I know most people say 3/4in to 1 in out but mine is probably only 1/2 out. I thought with a solid carrier bearing and telescoping rear this would not be an issue.

Also the car had original u joints and the rubber in the carrier was gone when I disassembled. The car never clunked at all. Not to mention all the rear arm bushings where rotted and warped aswell. I don't understand how or why it is now.

The rearend never made noise. all I did was take the axles and member out to reseal it all. Everything looked good inside. Could made I had messed something up in there? Ive swapped 3rd members out before never with any issues.

Have you checked pinion angle at "driving height?" Might be a good idea.

Im a big fan of his music and skits. Genius. I made that drawing and had a copy made for me. I signed and framed the original and gave it to him and him and his band autographed my copy and its framed hanging in my room. He was really nice and could tell me and my buddy were big fans. Got to talk to him for about 10 minutes. I wish I remembered more about what we talked about I was pretty drunk lol. He said he was hanging my drawing in his recording studio. Awesome.
