Trail Cam Pics

Always aware that had some interesting critters around my place, so set a trail cam up in this past July. It is about 75 yards from my back door.

Bobcat make me nervous, they're sneaky . The bear, you can hear it walk. Carry a gun outside the house

Re: Trail Cam Pics

nnnnice kkkitty...I have seen a few around here their pretty skittish around humans. I saw one packing a kitten in her mouth one time just like an ol housecat would.
Now, Mr bear's another story. Around here it's shoot first ask question's later with them buggers.
They get to where they lose the fear of humans. Hopefully that bear moved on.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

I got this "big kitty" from bed out my window. He had taken chickens all week and I finally caught him in the act. I thought it was coyotes but then I saw him and I was really surprised! He was 50lbs and I didn't think they got that big, but apparently I was wrong.

About 50 more and you'll have enough for a nice coat. ..lol..that cat was ripping holes in the chicken wire to get in.

People around here that have experience with bobcats have told me that it is the biggest one that they have seen. I figure that he is about knee high at the shoulder. The pics that I have gotten are about 5 weeks apart so I figure he/she makes a loop. My property borders the French Broad river which comes out of the NC mountains into TN. We also have panthers, but haven't seen one- yet that is.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

Great pictures! You can just keep all those cats, we don't need any, thanks. Actually might have some, I'm not sure. I know we have mountain lions but they usually avoid people. Plenty of black bears too, not really any problems, just don't leave food or garbage out for them. I've been seeing fresh bear sign almost every morning when I'm on the trails walking our dogs.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

Not to hijack but, last Friday afternoon my girlfriend, my son and I were having a beer by the pool.on my back Federline we spotted a bobcat walking by. The only thing I had loaded was a 12ga. It was a little far but I knocked it down twice before it ran away.I bet it's a while before it comes back, IF he survives the infection.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

I would have already been shooting. I have small kids and that cat as well as the bear would be a serious problem for me. The bear would be a rug and dinner and the cat probably just mounted.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

While I suspected, if it weren't for the trail cam I would not have known for sure. My neighbor has lived here for 40+ years and has actually seen only one bear during that time and had no clue that there was a bobcat around until he saw the pics. That they are around doesn't bother me.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

I wanna move to the country and have woods...the biggest critter we get around here are fat raccoons and feral cats, no where near as big as bobcats. I think it's be awesome to have stuff like that around, as long as all guns were loaded lol

Not a fan of the coyotes either. Was surprised to see the possum and coyote together. The fox is pretty cool looking.

Re: Trail Cam Pics

Some nice pics. I really like the fox they're pretty but destructive if you have small animals like chickens. Coyote are bad too.

Same here. I still enjoy hearing them at night.

When I lived in Alaska, nothing was more exciting that hearing a wolf howl. That stood the hairs on the back of my neck straight up.

The bears were Ok, they knew the situation, leave the 2 leggers alone and they leave us alone. We had a bear get into the kitchen once. He bit into the 5 gallon container of cooking oil, let it leak all over the floor, then licked it up.

The porcupines would eat the insulation off electrical wire and that could create problems.
