A Christmas Truck with a Tree and SnowMan
What more can you ask for ? My Sis sent this to me from Arkansas
It's not mine ,,enjoy add others if you like .. This isn't just any old truck...this is a '49 Chevy. A family heirloom to be exact... Although it doesn't drive much anymore, it used to be my grandparents truck for the only country store in the Community of Turkey Creek, Arkansas. When the work was done in the summer days Grandpa Raymon and Grandma Hazel would load up as many kids as they could in the Chevy and drive them to Mountain View to watch movies. So when you drive past this truck sitting at The Pottery Shop you should remember that it's not just worn metal, it's a story and a symbol of smiling kids, simple times, and easy living

Pretty much is.

Re: A Christmas Truck with a Tree and SnowMan
I drove my 55 up through there the other day Larry. I came up from Shirley, and hung a left before I got to Turkey Creek, and went up through Fox to Timbo.

Re: A Christmas Truck with a Tree and SnowMan
Reminds me of a Christmas card. I like it simple like that. I've seen them all lit up, too.

Re: A Christmas Truck with a Tree and SnowMan
Crooked road I reckon.
Last winter I put a 3.23 geared, 9" rear, upgraded all the suspension and steering in the 55. I drives like a sports car now, and it's fun on that kind of read. I was by myself, and just had a ball that afternoon. It was after your time, but, Jerry Horton had the largest salvage yard of 55, 56, 57's in Mt. View that I have ever seen. Jerry had J&L Classic Chevy and sold parts, new and old. He got sick and sold out to a guy over at West Fork. I went over to Mt View and bought a 71 pickup bed trailer the other day. That's quite a mecca for 67-72 trucks. I saw a bunch of them.
