Great pictures Rian, the NSRA swap meets are always a great day out. £5 is a bargain for the surfer gas pedal

The ole foot pedal is required for ALL hot rods!

Mine has been with me for MANY years (since late 70s/early 80s). It continues its life in the 81 now.

Agree Ian,

A great day out, get to see some old friends

And in my case, random strangers greeting me to say thank you or that they are following me on one of the 9 forums I contribute to.

One guy told he was sad to see me walk away from Rods n Sods after some guys looked for Sh!t with me, nice to hear.

And bargains only if you keep a keen eye and know what stuff is making, the pedal cost £4.00 in the end.

Excellent posting Bill.

Thanks for sharing, made me chuckle here.

Quick n Dirty.

Tailgate cleaned up, scoured with ammonia based household cleaner.

Hosed down.

It will work.

Door lock pins removed, replaced with 8 Ball items.

Yup, I like that.

Stainless Steel tailpipe tip, offered up, it will work. £4.00 well spent.

Old painters paint and brush box I had for years, awaiting its role.....

Filled with a selection of the screwdrivers from Swapmeet for Sally, as she only had 4 cheap Wilkinson’s items.

What £5.00 bought.

Her share.

Of course you need stickers on there.

Yup, she likes it.

Also have given her the socket set to take home and put in her shed, in case I need to fix anything.

Well,

By now some of you know that the pause on the 66 can be officially lifted as my divorce is through. So pretty much no chance of it getting pulled into settlement as a valuable asset, and with my MoJo returning over the last 6 months or so, the time has come to get back to it.

With Sally who I met 5 weeks ago, and some of you may have seen in the Blazer thread, already making typical woman noises indoors, and then, when I took her down to the garage, she took a couple of sneaky photos while I was in the loft packing stuff away, and sent one to me from her bed when she went home.........

With the following comment......

I guess the time has come to start getting back to this job.

My day job, admittedly is keeping me a lot busier than it may have a few years ago, but I also know that small steps forward are still progress. So I will just have to do it bit by bit like mate Ian Brown and some of the other guys have done.

She seemed to enjoy the short drive in the Blazer too, and has been sending me rude automotive photos of barn finds and abandoned vehicles almost since day one.

Meet the whip cracker.

Good news ??

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Dinner date went well, we both fell asleep after dinner, on the sofa watching American Pickers (Sally’s choice) as we both had a ha d week, and she is working the whole weekend, part of a 12days on, 4 days off system.
I feel really honoured that she makes this kind of effort, just for a plate of food.
It’s been a while, and of course I am in shorts or track bottoms....

So after we woke sat upright on the couch at silly-0-clock she went home and sent a nice pic of the moon over her home.

Up early, then drove down to mate Darren’s shop Unit Engineering

Unloaded Prozac, while his dad made us coffees, again amazed at the capacity of this little van.

Typically, found Sh!t to load back into the van. M&S furniture that the unit next door threw out, new and in packaging but with minimal damage.

Front passenger tyre seemed a bit low on air, checked it out......

Once back in the Medway, I popped into Just Tyres to get it replaced.

Considering that other than the initial service items, I have not spent anything on the Berlingo in three years, the £42.00 for a new Chinese Ditchfinder tyre, fitted was a cheap price to pay.

Service was fast, efficient including a 5 year warranty on the tyre, whatever that means.

While unloading the Berlingo we heard a V8 roll in.....

While there, I always love the random stuff that is being worked on.

So Saturday produced some fun.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Back home, cars swapped around, created havoc out on the street as the local füktards do well in excess of the posted 30mph, often nearer 70-80 mph.

They hate obstructions...... 😁

Ready for the Kent Breakfast Meeting tomorrow.

Hopefully good weather and even more guys than usual in their American cars and trucks.

Later guys.

Your wish.......

With the Blazer not being a Project and the weather changing, it is obviously more and more fun going out in it.

I invited mate Kevin to join me for brekkie, he loves old cars too, but is currently building a VW T6 based camper as part of his retirement planning.

So off at 07.30 the first stop was to get some fossil juice.....

First to get there and park up, we went in and ordered breakfast, the. Went out to watch people arrive while the kitchen got going.

Arrivals.

I got Gene a steel plate ram at mate Darren’s workshop, to be completed by Gene.

Repurposed window frame.

Happy with his brekkie. Kevin.

A FREE SHOW SOON, SHOULD BE A GOOD DAY OUT.

Sunday also saw Brits, bikes and others arrive at The Woodman for breakfast.

More in a moment.

I think that’s the lot.

After this, around 11.00am we headed out as we both had stuff to deal with.

Thanks for looking in.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Weirdly, after some time of inactivity, things are coming alive at Chez Grizz.

Certainly, playing a part in it all is Sally.

She took all the pics below, sneakily while I was busy, to me it shows a certain interest

She continues to send me pics of old cars and animals and chases me to the garage when she can.

Sunday afternoon, she came over and made me clear up outside the garage, moving stuff, sweeping and to be honest, being one of the nicest pains in the butt, I have had there for a long time. This does not include @PaulY who is always welcome.

With all the plastic pallets already removed by Prozac, the trailer needed it’s wheels pumped up and moved with stuff on top of it.

The steel work bench also needed to be moved temporarily, as did the trolley I used to move theC10chassis in and out when I was doing all the work on it.

Much more to be cleared, but headed in the right direction

Job done, trust me.

Now I can weld and cut and grind out in front of the garage again, thanks to some good motivation

There are a few tasks to do before I get going on the Chevy Resto Reboot, including removing the existing deck, rebuilding a new one and some other random tasks.

But it will be gotten back to.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Well, one photo would not really tell the story.

But the rear seats in these unbolt real easy.

Especially if you have help or supervision in the shape of a fur ball.

But why would I be needing to liberate 2.0 meters of longitudinal space??

Totally related, but not easy to see till this all progresses a lot further “down the road” was Mickey next door’s old sofa that had a tear in the one seat leather......

But the back panel was very good, undamaged.....

So harvested.

Colour may need some editing at some point.

And distressing too.

Answers on a postcard.

OWNERS BUILD THREAD.

I wanted to build one just for fun, then @CraigRK offered me a free pile of bits he has owned for 13 years.

At least we know it will, should fit in the back of Prozac......

Fetching early on Saturday.

Ahhh yes, who knows.....

We may darken your doorstep again.

Another week over.

Last night saw this happen at a work awards dinner, sales, yes.

Thank you to all of those of you taking the time to be part of my MoJo recovery, being friends, supportive and generally motivational from behind the scenes.

You may not even realise it, but these forum families are a lot more valuable than the sum of their parts.

And then there are some very special friends, like mate Martin and @CraigRK......

Both sent me this screen shot last night.

So the question is.....

With the red truck awaiting loads of attention, the Blazer not completed the way I want it to be, so not completely out of my system, another truck seen recently that made my pulse race.....

What’s a man to do.

One more day in a meeting room, then it’s the weekend.

Out in Prozac at 06.00 tomorrow, over to Craig’s to collect the other little (it is bigger than it should be) Project, and buy our USA 2019 Road Trip tickets. Followed by the rest of the weekend with Sally....

Life is certainly good.

Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Glad to see things going your way and you look happy!

I noticed on your blazer thread a picture of your '66, I never paid attention before, but your '66 and my '65 where the same color light blue from the factory. I am leaning to whenever I paint mine again, that I will go back to the light blue.

Again, you have made a great point, this forum family is more than the sum of its parts. Great support, trucks or otherwise.
