I tend to agree, but with the original closed by Moderators, everyone was left hanging. I intend to see this through to the end no matter what the outcome.

You may be right, but let's try to think positive, okay? It's a little early to start throwing stones again.

Re: Project Underhaulin Update?

Ok, I heard from Russ. I forgot that he prefers to be contacted via txt or a call, so my bad.

Here is the email:

"Rick,

I'm sorry I don't check my personal email very much these days. I didn't know you had emailed a few times. I decided to check it after I talked to Bryan texted me earlier about what he's seeing on the board. I told you when we spoke on the phone that a call or text was the best way to reach me.

As far as the truck goes. I finally have all of the truck in one place and I am working on getting a little more organized for a work day. I plan to debut the truck at the southern truck nationals in July so everyone can see it. Then we can decide what we want the final end game with the truck is. My family and I are going on vacation toward the end of this next week. I stored your phone number in my phone, when we return I will touch base with you so you can stop by. Please call or text in the future. Thanks. "

I discussed getting some photos. This is something that folks have been asking for and I think that would satisfy a ton of the suspicions here with the members. Either Russ is going to take some and post them, or I will go there and snap a few if he is too busy.

We all get busy with life, but this thing just has to come to a conclusion.

I'd like to know the progress also.

I drove over 100 miles to personally deliver parts for this project when I was stationed at Ft. Campbell.

BS , now it's going to be debut at southern truck nationals in JULY ? I call it all baloney ! Always another delay , hey Russ I'm right here in Knoxville I'd be more than happy to accommodate your schedule just to see this truck in person ? Dusty , needing the tires inflated , on a trailer , still in pieces ???? Now all these guys have to wait until JULY ?

Re: Project Underhaulin Update?

The man does have a point, it has been over two years since a photo of the truck has been posted. This alone has caused much of the animosity which can easily be remedied.

Bryan, have you seen the truck since it was moved from Nashville? (Don't take it wrong, just an honest question)

Not taking it wrong at all. Yes, I've seen it a couple of times.

Be patient, you don't have a choice. Getting on here spouting off about stuff you know nothing about isn't going to help.

Re: Project Underhaulin Update?

James, Russ has it under control, 5150 is pretty well in the know as well. There were legal issues and problems that quite frankly are no ones business.

I myself do not like the lack of public update, but Russ was thrown a major bs fest taking this on. Please allow him the time and faith needed to finish what he is doing. These men have more time and labor into this project than most can imagine. Not to mention dealing with the legal red tape and other issues that arose.

I message and ask from time to time, and Josh is updated as well. I get the want to know, but please allow them room to finish and reveal.

Thanks

Re: Project Underhaulin Update?

Sorry, this delay was on me. Waited all day for 6 yards of concrete which arrived late afternoon on Fri. I had to rake and float it myself, so was in no condition to do anything the rest of the evening except have a cold brew or three. I had to let Russ know I was not gonna make it.
Waiting or Russ to give me another day/time this week to ride over there

Re: Project Underhaulin Update?

Ok, I'm throwing in the towel. It's been almost a month since I heard from Russ, and my two txt's during that time have gone unanswered. I have better things to do in life than keep asking the same question over and over again.

Russ seems like a good guy, but he knows what kind of issues not having a single photo of the truck in over two years has caused.....yet it's not high on his "list".

Liz posted this a few responses back:

"There were legal issues and problems that quite frankly are no ones business."

I respectfully disagree, every single member here that either donated time or any amount of money should have the right to ask questions and get answers with the aid of the moderators.

This whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth which includes my own mistakes. I do not feel like the forum owners and Mods have stepped up to the plate to make sure the member's interests here were represented very well. I myself apologize to everyone for not being able to bring this thing to a conclusion.

If anyone-else wants to pick up the torch, feel free to PM me.

Pointing fingers at the Mods certainly isn't beneficial. They are all volunteers and not capable of initiating anything. I wasn't even a Moderator when this all came down. I donated a complete matched lock set for the project, but I never really followed the thread.

Re: Project Underhaulin Update?

I donated parts or cash ,cant remember ,dont matter ,I still think it is a project worth waiting on in memory of those who died way too soon .Once I donate something ,its no longer mine and I dont worry about it .The members who took this on did it for the love of another person and deserve the time it takes . Just my rambling thoughts ,Russ does have a day job and family that comes first as it should .

Same here. I don't have a rooster in the fight so I just watch at a distance. The sadness that got this project off the ground, then her death? Geez.

I say, let's just give it some time.
