1969 GMC interior color code question

Hey fellas -

I searched and could not find what I was looking for.....620 red vinyl custom trim - what is this red supposed to look like? Is 620 a bright red, or more of a Marlboro red/burgundy? I have acquired a truck with this color interior, and it looks pretty dark, more like a burgundy color versus a bright red.

Any photos or ideas?

Thanks!
Travis

Re: 1969 GMC interior color code question

I believe you are describing the one year only (1969) maroon/ox blood/dark red interior. I have this in my truck- GMC K10. The dash pad, bezel, glovebox door, visors/hooks, mirror cover, door panels, seat belts, and seat(not at this time) are the maroon color. My understanding is some pieces are reproduced, but not all. Thanks for the reply! I believe that's what I have. The glovebox door is also painted that color. Headliner as well.

What suppliers do you reccomend for the soft parts? This truck needs it all.

Re: 1969 GMC interior color code question

It's code 617, it's just a base model truck

Re: 1969 GMC interior color code question

I have a 69 Chevy with the Red Vinyl Trim Code 617, it has the burgundy dash pad, door panels, steering wheel and visors. Is it possible the GMC's used code 620 for this option?

Re: 1969 GMC interior color code question

I think the 617 is just the code for red in a base model truck. The same color will have a different code for different level trim options, since the seat pattern and materials are different for each trim level

Re: 1969 GMC interior color code question

The GMC version typically had the maroon glovebox door, a matching bezel with maroon steering column and wheel/horn button. There is no one single place to get all the soft parts. Classic Industries has some listed, to start. Bruce
