Re: Well guys I can finally say I am Pro Street

Well guys I haven't really posted anything in probably a month or two, but I have made some progress, I took my front end completely apart cleaned everything and painted it, I just finished getting the disk brake stuff done what a pain it was to convert the truck to a 5x4 3/4 lug pattern, So all I have left to do to finish the brakes is order a master cylinder and proportioning valve and run some new line. I just finished taking the stock gas tank out and putting the new aluminum fuel cell and pump in, So I am getting ready to order all my braided line and AN fittings, hopefully within the next month to at least drive it around the block and light those 18.5 up a little. Getting excited now. I will have to post some pics.

Re: Well guys I can finally say I am Pro Street

hey guys. im new to the forum. looks like a pretty good site.

I just recently tubbed my 71. I took my existing rearend and narrowed it 6 in. and installed Moser axles. Im running 15x14 Weld DragLites with 7 1/2 backspacing. Had to cut the springs out and run coil overs due to the tires hitting the original coil springs. Much better setup anyway. I have the 29x18.5 Hoosiers and they fit perfect. It was my first time to tackle anything like this and was nervous about doin it. I measured everything a hundred times. lol But it turned out great! These trucks are the easiest thing you will ever try to tub. I've only drove it twice so far and only at the track and tore the center section out of the rearend both times. Ouch! If i knew how to post pics I would put some on here.

Re: Well guys I can finally say I am Pro Street

PROSTREET71 welcome to the board sounds like a cool project.

70C10 Jegs actually sells that kit, I have never seen it in the catalog, but if you go on the website search Alternator Drive Kit it should come up. I liked it because its different I have never seen anyone at a car show around here that has it.

Re: Well guys I can finally say I am Pro Street

Garagedude- I just went on Jegs site and found a kit: http://www.jegs.com/i/Procomp+Electr...C2252/10002/-1 for the long water pump but it doesn't come with the pulley for power steering. How did you handle that or do you not have power steering on your truck???

Re: Well guys I can finally say I am Pro Street

I am not running power steering but there is a V grove cut in my pulley crank pulley and you could probably use it to run power steering but you would have to make custom brackets to mount it and it would probably be a real pain
