Re: 64 c10 build

Did you have any trouble lining up the door gap to the rockers? I am having a tough time. Is it possible to look at my build thread and let me know what you think?

Re: 64 c10 build

My drivers side rocker fit ok with some modifications but in my opinion turned out awesome, it had a "triplus" sticker on it but the passengers had "counter part" sticker and let me tell you if you get one of these good luck.. I wasn't sure at first if I had messed up doing the floor, lower cowling or the apillar. I put my original one back on it fit perfectly. the counter part rocker I had to gap it out at the top/back it was twisted the lip was too short on the top I would have had to slice it all over to make it fit and stitch it back together..

Mjminino, it also looked like crap lined up with the door.. I've kinda looked at ur build but I'll have to check it out again.. It's hard to tell from pic's. I can just tell you what worked for me..

I’m not going to cover mine, I’m going to use the original side trim pieces as the radiator brackets.. little mod... I didn’t buy the controller.. Yet. more $$$. I haven’t decided. Did you get the programmable harness? How do you like it?

Re: 64 c10 build

Loving this build in just the three pages you have so far. I just had to pass on a set of transport wheels. Didnt have the cash, and wasnt sure of the fit anyhow. Now seeing them, Ill have my eyes open for the next set for sure!!!!

Are you running wheel spacers at all?
Are you running stock track width?
Does the front wheel rub as of the ride height you have in the pics?

Re: 64 c10 build

I have my eye on a set of those transport wheels myself. Can you share any insight on how you installed the clips (measurements, etc)? Tire size? I have 4 wheel drum brakes on my 66 C-10 Service truck, will I have to have the center hub enlarged? Let me know. Thanks

I haven’t put my bed on yet but I know it will hit the inside of the fenders just off measuring I think I’m going to have to use a 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" spacer on the rear. I’ll put the bed on this weekend.. once the rain quits
Thanks 4mulaSvaliant!!! above is off another thread I’ve posted on.. Mine is still in the build stage of course but I have taken some measurements with my bed on.. the front should be fine but I will run a 1 1/4" spacer on the rear.. I put a 1 1/2 space on there and the tires are too close to the fenders. About a finger.. My rear axle is out of a 1971 c10 witch is 2" wider than the 64 axle. The front is sitting a little high right now, it should go down a little once the truck is full assembled and the new springs are broke in. clearance seems ok

not sure the measurements that why I made a tool. I wanted a 28" tall tire so I used 255/30ZR22. The center bore on these wheels are smaller than your stock hubs.. I think someone on here had the center bore opened up to make it work with the drums

I have not got the truck running yet but, My buddy Jim has used a couple of the harnesses and he likes them a lot. The whole entropy "package" is very nice and fits like a glove. I dig it!

I guess if I get one it will be the LSX series dual speed.. It's another $150.. How are you mounting your radiator?

We just used the factory mounts and kinda made them fit. We build new side plates and re worked the upper mount. I try to get some pics.

Re: 64 c10 build

Awesome thanks!! I thought about building some side brackets out of aluminum that use the fan holes and the core support holes!! Instead of modifying my original ones.

Re: 64 c10 build

I scored a used painted grille today. I'm looking to buy a painted/primed back bumper. Anybody buy bumpers from top banana?? It would be like $169 to my door.

Thanks Bomp! You guys know of any other companies that sell a rear painted/primed bumper? LMC use too have them but it's not on the site anymore. I have a nice chrome one but removing the chrome would be a nightmare.. I read a lot about top banana being hard to get a hold of. I may try to call them tomorrow and see what happens.

I've never had to call Top Banana but I got all my sheet metal from them and it shipped pretty quick. All decent quality stuff (for repops).

Rockers DONE! I worked on the bottom of the cab Saturday removing the old paint and undercoating with a wire wheel. I still need to sand it and hit some weld spots and it should be ready for new undercoating.
