Re: One Piece Window, Flush fit back glass

I installed one of their 1 piece window kits in a 71 GMC. I will never do that again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody else either.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: One Piece Window, Flush fit back glass

There are a lot of problems with it. To start with, the glass really won't fit in the door without quite a bit of modification. You have to cut out the brace behind where the wing vent goes. You have to remove the latch assembly and grind it down for clearance, then you have to grind out a section inside the front of the door for clearance. The glass guide doesn't offer much support for the window and it flops around loose unless it is all the way up or down. When everything is installed and aligned, there is still a gap at the front of the glass. The gap is mostly covered up by the lower weatherstrips, but it still has a lot of wind noise at highway speeds. It looks pretty nice installed, but I would never do it again.

Yep, I realize that, however, based on the experience I had with their one piece window kits, I wouldn't want their back glass kit either.

I guess I'm to blame for his post. Sorry I wasn't thinking about it being the side window he was speaking of either in his first post. I thought it was the back glass also.

No harm done, I didn't intend to get so far off track either.
