Air Ride Switch Wiring Help (Lots of switches)

So im building a air system for my rat rod on a 68 c10 chassis.
I bought a "switch box" that im assuming was ment for hydraulics. There are 10 total switches.
2 large 12 pole switches, 4 smaller 3 pole switches, and 4 smaller 6 pole switches.
All are momentary 2 way switches.
I understand the 3 pole switches, to inflate and deflate each bag seperatly.
But what the heck are the 2 12 pole switches and 4 6 pole switches for?
I wouldn't mind having one of the main 12 pole switches to air up and deflate all bags at once but im not sure i need the rest. Id have a total of 5.
The wire coming out of the box has 9 total wires. Thats got me confused too. Wouldn't you only need 8? 1 for each pressure and dump valves? Whats the 9th one for?

Re: Air Ride Switch Wiring Help (Lots os switches)

Well, i answered my own question i guess. 9th wire is power in.......duh

Then i found this diagram. I went through the 4 3 pole switches and identified pump and dump for each valve and marked them up.

With all the crap going on in this box, i might just leave all the functions even though i might not use them. Heres how the box is setup.
Ive also attached a diagram in case anyone else needs thins info.

1-pump/dump right front
5-pump/dump front
2-pump/dump left front
6-pump/dump rear
3-pump/dump right rear
7- pump/dump right
4- pump/dump left rear
8-pump/dump left

9-pump/dump All
10-See Saw (inflate/deflate front/rear and vise a a verse)

Re: Air Ride Switch Wiring Help (Lots of switches)

Those old school plexi switch boxes are HUGE! And unless you are "dancing" your truck, totally unnecessary. If it were me, i would pick up one of THESE. They have 7 rocker switches: 4 for indivual corner up/down, 1 front up/down, 1 rear up/down, and one int the middle for ALL up/down. They are alot smaller too, so you wont have this huge box sitting in your lap while driving and hitting the switches. I particulary think this one really fits your truck:

They offer the same thing in a 9 switch which adds side to side switches, and a keyed lockout on the switchbox to keep prying hands from messing with your truck.

OOOOOO i like that MUCH better than this brick! I was only planning on using 5 switches mounted in the dash somewhere but that box looks nice.

Its no where close to finished yet. Still dont have a drivetrain in place.
Just getting the body lookin how i want first. Got some bags for the rear but i still gotta do the disk swap up front then the lug swap.
I buddy of mine does paint and he just bought a bike he wants me to build up for him in trade for paint.
Were gonna have to Cryo Blast (Dry Ice Blast, similar to soda blasting but with NO mess) this entire thing top to bottom and inside top out for anything to stick to it.

But since you asked for more photos
Heres some of the most recent.

It always gets me excited once i see the 1st photo i ever took of it

VERY cool! I'd like to see the bed rails chopped down to the top of the wheel wellls. Never heard of the dry blasting, sounds like a great idea.

What's the plan for the front end/grille area?

Ya know, i had the fenders up tight to the bed rail to gain clearance for the tires when aired out but it just didn't fit right. There are factory lines stamped into the bed sides that follow the contour of the entire fender and i wanted to keep that factory look. Im sure one day the thing will be painted.

Dry Ice Blasting is pretty sweet! It uses dry ice pellets and shoots it at the substrate with high air pressures. When the ice hits the substrate, it causes a tiny explosion of each pellet that breaks off any debris. Once it explodes, it evaporates instantly to C02 so there is nothing to clean off the floor but whatever you blasted off.
We use it in the restoration industry for smoke soot. It does no damage to whatever your blasting and in the auto industry, it would work great on metal since you wouldn't get heat warping due to heat with your media.

These are spares from an 07 up dodge ram 1500 that came equipped with 20" alloy wheels.
I had to buy spacers to change from 6 lug on the hubs to 5 lug on the wheels.
I can't remember how wide they are. I want to say 8" but can't remember for sure.

Re: Air Ride Switch Wiring Help (Lots of switches)

Since the thread was brought back up, and some of you were interested in the progress (which is mind numbingly slow) here it is.
Seems the truck has turned into a lifelong project. Can't seem to find the time to dedicate to it. I have 2 bikes that friends want me to build for them, another trike I'm working on for myself, and a fresh newborn all tugging for my attention

I built a grill out of prebent exhaust tubing.

Mounted a gas tank that was cut in half off al Alllis Chalmer tractor from the 50's

Grill and headlights were built with 3/16" plate and held together with a bunch of brass bolts.

You can see the mounts better here.

Just be careful that your adapters don't push your wheels too far our from the wheel wells. I didn't have that problem since I widened the entire bed to fit them, and I'm not running front fenders.

I love em! So long as they're built right. I've seen some nasty hack jobs that really put a bad name on them. But reality is, I think it takes just as much, if not more (with the exception of body work and paint) then It does to do a frame up.
I started it thinking it would be easier, but its takes a lot of brain damage to get oarts from all different vehicles to work together.
But I'd do it again
