How can you quiet down polyurethane suspension bushings?? I put lower control arms on my 99 Sierra and the noise really bothers me....It's embarassing really, kinda like the tailpipe bouncing off the rear-end on every bump I hit...

I used the grease that came with the bushings, all of it and I don't get a sound out of them. It's a special grease for those bushings

All mine came with was threadlocker...Did you put the grease in the zerk or was it for the inner sleeves when you assembled it? I just used wheel bearing grease on the sleeves and chassis grease in the zerks...

it's a special grease for urethane, very tacky stuff. I put the stuff anywhere there would be contact, inside, outside and the ends. You can get the stuff from Energy Suspention. Check there site

It's messy stuff, but it works.......I don't envy you taking it all apart to grease it up, but that's the only way the noise will go away.

used to have poly bushing in my olds and I had to grease them at least once a year to avoid squeaks

Well I'm putting tires on it tommorow so I'll check it out while its on the lift...Wont be that bad taking it apart, a spring compressor makes it alot easier. Wish Godfather or DJM woulda mentioned that before I put it all together...

I know this is going to sound bad but get some dirtbike chain lube.

The stuff is supper tacky and will say put.

Stuff works better than anything I have ever seen.

And here is a name brand to get...Spectro(golden spectro synthetic total tac chain lube for o ring chains)

Get it and the squeeks are gone

I haven't tried poly bushings in any of my trucks, but I have them in my hotrod V8 Fiero. Like was said, usually a special grease (maybe a moly grease?) comes with the poly bushings. What I did (was told this by several other people who have done it) was to take a bare hack saw blade and cut a shallow groove on the inside hole of the poly bushing. Then grease the "H E double toothpick" out of it. This groove traps a supply of grease and keeps the bushing lubricated for a much longer time than normal. Those poly bushings are a little squeaky and noisy unless they are well lubed.

I got the 99 about a month and a half ago.
Guess I'll have to go find some of this stuff at the ATV shops....Gonna shoot some lithium grease on em tommorow cause its really buggin' the sh*t out of me. Hopefully that'll work then Ill put some of that tacky stuff in the zerks. I really dont want to drop those control arms again, they were a real b*tch....Thanks for the advice...

I think that you will like the chain stuff I spoke of.
I have tryed just about everyhing and that worked the best for me.
