Re: where are all the 6 bangers?

There's two in the garage shot a 63 Nova 194 and a 73 Camaro 250. (the really orange one is an Allis 4-cyl). One in the red 81 GMC (it's on its 2nd motor at 56k, hate integral heads with cracks and vacuum leaks. Lived its life on the farm in 1st gear. Still has the factory tires on the front). And one on the 84 chassis, about 60k miles, complete with its PS.

Re: where are all the 6 bangers?

love this six! mines an integral with everything factory, but the simplicity and torque of it is nothing to complain about even with a stock setup. Of course, im not leaving it stock...

Re: where are all the 6 bangers?

Hey Lance,

It runs great actually. I was worried since the CFM for 2bbl carbs I believe is 500. I am looking forward to putting the 390 4bbl on it after I can rebuild it with a help of a friend which will save me some gas mileage compared to the 2bbl, but this one is just fine.

Here's a new pic, I just got the Air Conditioning back installed with the new bracket. I had to make the bottom half of it, as well as the throttle bracket. Doing a Blazer tank conversion and selling the old engine tonight!

Green77c10: I like your truck, it reminds me of my first stepside!

Re: where are all the 6 bangers?

Simple enough, get you a junkyard head/intake and exhaust and have the head redone. You can do the upgrades later. I know $$$ is the key right! I just stumbled across my intake and couldn't let it go since it came with the engine

Re: where are all the 6 bangers?

here is the 4.1/4 speed manual w/od in my '82 that is currently part of a frame off resto-mod. I ditched the inline 6 and 4 speed although it worked really well.
Here are some pics I took at a gas station a few miles after I bought it earlier this year, notice the previous owners duct tape vent window ...

Did it have enough power to run OD at 45-55 without having to shift to direct? I've got my eye on an 84 A-833 truck with a popped 305, and have a couple of L-6's that could use a home. Just been wondering if the combo is really driveable.

I did not drive it much at highway speeds in OD, but it was way more powerful than I thought. I remember pulling onto the highway and saying to myself, this is going to suck, but I looked down and I was doing 65 in 3rd gear, then I shifted into OD and rode just fine.
