Re: Rear end rebuild help

I have only ever done a Ferd ('s, and that was many, many years ago. I am just not sure on myself with rear ends and don't trust my attempts, so I always take my rear ends to a local guy. Hopefully, some of the experts can chime in for ya.

Re: Rear end rebuild help

It looks like you need to increase the backlash.

What is the backlash at now?

Re: Rear end rebuild help

I would increase the right shim by .004 and decrease the left shim by .004

Would this be a set on GM gears with a 3.42 Ratio?
