Just agreed to pick one up from another member this weekend. I'm sure it will go fast though.

Just FYI, you need to be a paying member to advertise for sale though... so you should set that up before you go any further.

Thank you it works great dropped the idle to 650 witch i could never reach with just a aftermarket air cleaner on there and the most noticeable difference is in 4th gear it really eats up that air and takes the truck to highway speeds much faster then before.

Sweet. I have a couple of 292 6 cylinders and one runs(my half ton) and the
other sat for 13 years(my 3/4 ton) it doesnt run....yet....Planning on swapping it for
a v8. 6 cylinder is to small for a heavy load at free way speed.

Seems like the cold air intake act as a small turbo. I should try it. Seems like a graet
idea.

yeah it dose great without it you are sucking air coming right off your exhaust running at 700 degrees! its a 1960's heater box if you haven't already noticed you can check it out on my thread the building process anyways.

What do you categorize as a "heavy load"??? Anything more than a car on a trailer while also pulling the arse of the '65 Suburban it was attached to??

I consider a haevy load a full load of wood in the bed and a full load of wood in a 10
foot trailer.

Re: Tricked-out Chevy six cylinder engines

yes thats a holly weber 2bbl and the carb hat and tubing was all built using abs plumbing pipe fittings on my blog it shows the full processes of the build and my build thread also gets the point across of how it was built both in my sig.

and the finned stuff im guessing your talking about the stuff over the front of the intake or back of the heater box lol its just expanded metal in a cool size for using it for stuff like that its also in my hood vents.

Re: Tricked-out Chevy six cylinder engines

I dont have a 4 barrel on my 230 but i have done tons of research on it and will do it one day. To get out what your putting in with the 4 bbl you must have dual exhaust. A fresh motor also wouldn't hurt but just my guess here your going to be looking at the mpg of a small block 350. If your looking for mpg my 230 runs 15-17 around town depending where my foot is and hits 20 mpg on the high way but ive spent a lot of time making it that way.

Re: Tricked-out Chevy six cylinder engines

Heres a picture of a split manifold easy way to get dual exhaust also doesn't take away your exhaust heat to the intake.

Ive also found with my 230 that removing the motor fan and using an electric fan has made a noticeable power increases to the motor lol!
