How do you open the gas cap with 60 psi and not have it knock you over. I'm missing something.

It doesn't pressurize the tank, it is the pressure into the fuel line to the engine. The tank has to be vented anyways.

Soo, if you send it out at that pressure, the tank vent has to let air in at that same rate, I think. If not vented the pressure could not be kept up, so not being vented enough could cause problems of low pressure. ???

Vented gascaps are usually always a good idea... esp if you live in a high temperature change area.

Aka I fill my tank now (45*F) and in 2 weeks it will be 70*F and sunny one day.

doesnt take long.

When I did my suburban tank I used the factory Camaro pump and housing, I just cut it off the Camaro tank and welded it onto the suburban tank. That maybe an option, suburban tank with newer Silverado flange and pump., I left my stock suburban fuel sender in for the gauge.

Return pressure is typically much less than supply pressure. Volume and pressure is lost because of the fuel used by the engine.

Correctomundo........ I had star Dyno in spring branch Texas install a Silverado fuel pump and sending unit in the jeep tank I used. I paid $75 for the tank new and they baffled the tank and installed the fuel pump and sender for $450.
I think Terry said that he had to shorten the depth of the pump.

I tried this on a chevelle I did since the caprice tank is a nice replacement in the 70 chevelle. Even the impala SS fuel pump won't produce enough pressure.

I was reading through this thread this evening and am thinking about a 19 gallon blazer tank and module ( they are cheap on ebay) for my 61 project.

I did an 98 s10 ls swap last year and the stock pump worked fine for the 5.3

I have an original cluster with the gauges I'd like to use in the truck, but if its not practical I'll upgrade to modern gauges.

I'm curious as to what you all are doing for a fuel gauge, any one using the stock gauge?

If so how is it done?

2004+ LS setups use a pump that has the regulator and filter built into it. Have you considered using one of those? Do you have pics of how the S10 tank fit, specifically how far below the frame rails does it sit?

Lower frame rails were trimmed approx 1/4-1/2 " to allow proper fit.

This is during mock up on a spare bed corner, a great friend made this for me. I certainly couldn't have done it, LOL.
