Re: Dumptruck Dolly

Worked on the motor some more. The headers came from my C10 but hung too low, so I get to put the Doug Thorley’s on Dolly...hope they clear everything. I am waiting on a water pump and a thermostat housing that clears the oil filler.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

Great Progress.
I just noticed / You really like those Extended T wing & Y wing hold downs.

I will share a trick I learned.

Once you get the Engine (Broke in) / (Warm-Up) and (adjusted).

It is a good idea to put a Touch of silicone on the inside of those T-Wings.

So the next time you raise the hood they will be there.

Thanks for the tip.

I’m using them here because I pulled them off a different project which will no longer be needing them...I didn’t want them to go to waste.

Ordered new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, (with throw out bearing) from my local parts retailer, but they included the wrong throw out bearing...have to wait a bit.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

We have lift off today...I’ll be able to clean the frame and paint it, and then drop the drivetrain in all at once.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

I found a pair of old skool cool pipes that I think I’ll add to the exhaust.

Also ordered and received some Warn lockouts.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

Got back to the frame...found a common spot on both the 3/4 and 1 ton frames. Measurement was made from the 3/4 ton and transferred to Dolly’s frame. The 2 1/8 “ location is the front bolt hole for the V8 crossmember.

Re: Dumptruck Dolly

I got rid of the 2wd driveshaft and the 6 cylinder exhaust and cleaned/painted under the cab. Next time I’ll get rid of the transmission crossmember that’s used with the 292.
