67 C10 small window
I recently started restoring my 67 C10. I’ve owned this truck for over 20 years. It was my first vehicle and it was my dads before he passed. It’s been sitting for around 15 years.
My plan: Lwb to swb conversion Sbc 350 or 5.3 swap Coilover conversion (possibly ridetech , not sure yet) 5 lug conversion with disc brakes Power steering/ brakes 20x10, 20x8.5 riddler wheels. Repair rust and paint some shade of bright red. Here are a few photos of where I’m starting . |

Removed the top roof skin . The inner roof panels seems good as far as rust , but has some dents so I may end up changing it too. The roof skin is from nsane.

In for the ride as well, nice job on that roof skin. The inner roof looks as solid as they come. It appears the truck has been well taken care of.

Got one of the wheels and tires mounted to see how they look. I went with 20x10 and 20x8.5 wrapped in Toyo 295/45r20 and 255/45r20

We got the cab off and mounted on a temporary dolly. Also shortened the frame, but I’m still undecided if I want to shorten my bed or sell it and purchase a repop bed?

Removed the suspension and engine today as well. I’m wanting to get the cab and frame sand blasted next week. I have a local mobile guy using a dustless blaster system with water and crushed glass. Is this safe as far as not damaging panels or should I look for someone using a soda blaster?

In preparation for sandblasting and painting the cab we fabbed up a Rotisserie. One person can easily rotate it and pin in to the desired position. Has anyone replaced rockers or cab corners while on a rotisserie or will I need to set it back on the dolly so door fitment can be verified?

In regard to the rockers, my opinion is as long as you keep the floor and floor sub structure in place you won't have any movement issues. I'd go ahead and take plenty of measurements and pictures just to feel good about it, but then cut them out, clean everything up real nice, get some rust preventative on the inside of the rockers, then tack them in place. Throw your doors back on to verify a proper fitment and then burn them in permanently.
On a side note, I see multiple stacks of new tires in your very nice shop... do you run a business or just keep plenty of spares around? It's none of my business for sure... just curious.

You mentioned you may change to a coilover setup. Check out the QA1 coilover kit. I bought one for my 67 but have not installed it yet. Bolt on installation, well engineered. I bought the kit that uses the stock trailing arms because the one with QA1 control arms was too much for my budget.
