Re: Project Patina Burb

I sold the newer buckets today on craigslist and I immediately went and bought this bench seat off of craigslist. It has a whole and a tear on the drivers's side, but I'm putting three gray seat covers over all three of the seats so I'm not concerned with it. I'm also going to take off the headrest. Don't know if they come all the way out or if I'll have to use the zawzaw

I got it home and have already taken off the seat bracket and painted it gray so it would match the interior.

I like my late model bench. It sits good, and has a little more room.

Re: Project Patina Burb

We had a work day at my house today and board members Rusbuilt, cubber, Kronos1968, and Tdave00 came over and we knocked a few things out.

Rusbuilt cut out the truck tail lights and cubber/Tdave00 hung the pass side door. We also figured out the gas neck issue(we hope).

Halen took a video of Rus working on the tail lights:

We've had a couple of board work parties out at the barn here for a couple of members. Andy once and Brad once. It really is a lot of fun.

Re: Project Patina Burb

yes those headrests should come out without cutting them off like i did until i found out afterwords lol. there is a little hole in the side of the plastic piece around the base of the headrest slide bars, if i remember correctly just stick like a little nail or something in there to push on a little release thing or whatever haha... i think the little hole thing i mentioned is on the inside ones. here is a pic of mine, i also cut the seat brackets down and will eventually get it recovered in black and green(olive drab)

Re: Project Patina Burb

Sweet, thanks. I saw those holes and thought that they might. I set it in the burb on Friday to drill the holes to bolt it in.

She's coming along nicely. I like that you decided to add the "factory" tail lights.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Haven't done much on it lately because there are a couple of things I'm not smart enough to do-bodywork and electrical wiring. At least the kind of wiring when you're re-wiring the entire burb. Give me a stereo or air bags and I'll knock it out.

Anyway, she's on her way to get the 5.3 wired up and running at a guy's shop that has my harness and computer. He's wired it and programmed the computer and will get it running for me. Couldn't beat the price.

Great looking build you got going, dont really see alot of those burbs up here in Canada.

Really digging your red blazer, too bad you had to part with it, but under the circumstances i would do the same.

Keep the pics coming.
