67 GMC Headlight Harness Loose Wire

A black wire on my headlight harness is just dangling unconnected. It is the black wire that runs across the radiator support to the passenger side. It has an inline 3A fuse and it just ends about 6 inches after the fuse. I can't remember where this connects. I'm hoping one of you guys knows the answer to this one. The strange part is everything is working: low beams, high beams, running lights, turn signals. So, not sure where this wire should terminate.

Any thoughts on this one?

Thanks,

-mike

Re: 67 GMC Headlight Harness Loose Wire

That sounds like one of the wires for the battery gauge.

It should be connected to the junction block that is usually on the inner edge of the passenger side fender near the battery. That junction block should already have the red battery charge / main feed wire hooked up to it along with a fusible link wire going to the positive battery terminal.

Re: 67 GMC Headlight Harness Loose Wire

Thanks for the suggestion. Upon closer inspection, I did find a ring terminal with no wire connected to it on that junction block. It was underneath the fusible link ring terminal.....hiding. :-)

Really appreciate you sharing your insight on this one.

Thanks again.
