Heavy Hauler 350 question.

Wondering if anyone can help me with some information on the 350 that is currently installed in my SWB. Wait... I am not in the wrong forum. The 350 in question has the engine code V1060TTP. Using the decoder I found at NastyZ28 and another site it is from either a 1970 C50 or C5500. Not sure which since the C50 came with a 2 barrel and the 4 barrel that is installed dates to 1973 and I don't know if the intake manifold is stock. So no solid clues there. The original owner said it came out of late 70's pickup but I am fairly certain it wasn't original to that truck either.

Anyways the main question I have is it a 4bolt main or 2?

2nd question should I build this motor or swap? I have a modest goal of 300HP and in it's prime the 4barrel version made 255.

Other questions are compression ratio and Torque rating.

I tried google but either I'm not proficient with search engines or there just isn't anything there.

Thanks
Jay

Re: Heavy Hauler 350 question.

Build what you have, 2or 4 bolt doesn't matter much in a short bed unless it is going to the track. Mild rebuild with compression around 9-1 and a cam with about 266 to 268 duration, HEI ignition and aftermarket 2.5'' ram horns with a single 3'' exhaust will scoot the truck right along just fine. Keep it simple and sweet
