Post 68 1 ton, what too look for.

Hey, I'm going to look at a 68 1 ton tomorrow, the guy says it was a 9ft stepside when he got it, now has flatbed. I know what to look for in the cab and fenders, what else should I look for? Has 2 extra 12 bolt rears with it, 3 hoods, 4 fenders. Already converted to discs in front. Do you think the 12 bolts would fit under my 3/4 ton 4wd providing the gears are right? Damn trucks can be addictive.

Look at the leaf springs real close. Seems every leaf spring truck I have looked at had cracked leafes...kinda scared to crawl under the onew ton to even look.

check under hood on the very top of firewall for handwriting with paint stick, white or black writing, wil be code just like CS31004

wil end with 04 if it really was a 9 foot truck

12 bolt rear wil only bolt under it if the spring pads on the axle tubes are 40" apart, center to center, right now it has an Eaton 10 bolt rear, wayyyyyy larger axle than any 12 bolt lol
