1967 Only

So I was reading a thread about glass and saw where the wing glass on 67's might be different than the rest of our trucks. I had never heard that before. I knew something about the wings were different but I was thinking it was just the little locking handle.

How bout listing everything from a 67 that is different than the rest of our trucks.

Re: 1967 Only

The kick panel vent handles are mounted higher on a 67 so the vents mounts are stamped just a little higher where the rods latch. The door under the panel where you unbolt the outer handles is different. 67 gates are stamped smooth around the large rectangle indent as in 68 they kind of stamped a "edge" profile around it. The pass side firewall is stamped different (due to the additional big block offered in 68). Frame is also made thinner in engine bay in 68 and up to clear the big block manifolds. Rear view mirror arm is 1 year only. The visor clips in 67 are 1 year only. V8 engines used a 4 jet and 68 up used Quadra jet carbs.. List goes on and on. It's almost like 67 is a 1 year model but not really.

Re: 1967 Only

No one has mentioned the parking break being a pull handle. Not sure if that is a one year thing or not. I had a 68 but honestly dont remember where it was on it.

Early '67 GMC Wide-side tailgate is different. Smaller boarder around 'GMC' stamping.

Re: 1967 Only

I'm curious about the buddy buckets. They were available in 67-68, but all of the repro covers I see don't match my 67's original pattern. Anyone know if there was a difference 67-68 patterns?

Bullseye lenses were 67-70

Yes, buddy bucket fabric patterns were different. '67 looked like the door panels

67-only:

Interior mirror

Buddy buckets came with CST

GMC headlamp doors have no dimples for adjustment screws/bumper has no reliefs for turn signals

The '67 vent windows had no holes in them for the latch pivot. Instead a metal bracket on the inside had a pivot stud. Style of vent window handle was common with '66s and before.
