ALERT STOLEN C10 Please keep an eye out!

These are pictures of a friend's C10 here in Colorado Springs, Colorado that was stolen this morning. Neighbor's video caught what appears to be a white Honda involved. Thanks for looking and sharing. THEY FOUND IT! See last post below

Nice truck, I hate thieves. I hope it's recovered before it gets this far but I'll keep an eye out.

Re: ALERT STOLEN C10 Please keep an eye out!

My Company truck was stolen from our locked yard a little south east of downtown Colorado Springs a couple weeks ago. Was recovered four days later basically unharmed for the most part. Missing were tools and equipment that could be taken to a pawnshop and that’s about it. Thieves spent an enormous amount of effort for a joyride and maybe a couple hundred bucks of pawnshop items (??)

One thing I learned is stolen vehicles are zero priority for the police these days. It took three days before a community officer was even available to file a report. The online report system was non-functioning. I’m not throwing rocks at the cops here, I suppose they are busy with bigger stuff these days, but yeah ....

Sorry to hear about the stolen truck, I’ll sure keep my eyes open for anything surrounding that. Good luck with getting her back.....

Re: ALERT STOLEN C10 Please keep an eye out!

It's unfortunate but makes sense. Usually, they're non-violent crimes, that aren't actively in progress, so relative active calls or violent calls they're a pretty low priority. And most things are insured. Doesn't lessen the sting of losing something close to you though.

I forwarded this info to some friends of mine who live in the Woodland Park area to be aware. He has a 67 so he notices these trucks.

Re: ALERT STOLEN C10 Please keep an eye out!

This makes me sick. Did they spray paint it black for some reason? You may watch craigslist or the facebook parts for sale to see if any of those parts pop up. I hope they catch the thieves.

I had a brand new Escalade stolen out of my driveway, it is a terrible feeling.

Man does that stink! This is one of those situations where it's perfectly acceptable for a grown man to cry.

Whomever did this should be beaten within and inch of their life, revived, and beaten again. I hope they find them although not much will probably happen to them.

Re: ALERT STOLEN C10 Please keep an eye out!

That sucks , But that's what we pay insurance for . I'd like to know were they found it ? Same town ? same county ? We used to stamp / etch the last 4 numbers off your DL on the wheels so if you saw another set at a car show or cruise you could see them . Is he going to get it back and rebuild ?

Just another reason to over insure them .

When a car theft report is taken, the color of the vehicle is listed. So, this was probably as attempt to lay low for a while. Flat black is a lot less noticeable then bright red.

To the OP, sorry it was found like this...

Re: ALERT STOLEN C10 Please keep an eye out!

Glad they found it, but what a huge letdown. I can't imagine how upset I would be if my dad's or my truck were stolen, chopped up, and given a quick paint job. Even if insurance covered the cost, it would take so much work to get it back to what it was.

I can't get real insurance on my truck as I put way too many miles on it so no classic insurers will cover it. Big box insurance will cover to the blue book value ($600). I have it insured up to $30K but my insurance co already warned me, I wreck it or it gets stolen, I get $600, someone else hits me they will go after their insurance co for up to $30K. "Stated value" is a load of crap.
