Classifieds question

Alot of the classifieds listed are showing really odd distance for me. Just checked Teeitup and he shows as 34 miles from me. Now if that was true I can tell ya I would be broke all the time. Some in Oklahoma also show less than 200 miles. Is there somewhere on the classifieds listing that actually lists where seller is located? just knowing someone is 200 miles from me isn't as helpful as knowing where they are actually located and in which direction . Maybe I'm just missing something. In old format the users town was listed in with his name. Thanks for any info

Re: Classifieds question

I like the new one with the exception of not being brought to the top when someone replies

Re: Classifieds question

my vote is for old also. I have found myself looking less and less at the new classified ever since it came around. Does not seem as user friendly as before.

Re: Classifieds question

I like the way the ads are displayed on the OLD classifieds much better. The only thing I like better about the new forum, is the separate "Wheels" catagory.

Re: Classifieds question

Well this isn't a poll. Give it a chance. The old wasn't working that well and Josh wanted to try something newer. If some of you had to deal with some of the bad deals and problems the whole thing causes you all would understand why he is doing what he is doing. There's over 1000+ people click onto this web site every day. Can you even imagine how hard it is to try to satisfy everyone????????

Re: Classifieds question

What was not working on the old one,if I may ask? From this end,the new one`s not working so well.I spent most of my time in the parts section, before. Now,it`s a quick check and I`m done. Not as much there,at least yet, either.I know this isn`t a poll and this is a privately owned site, not a democracy, but our input should have a value just the same.Is there a way to just simply show the same as here.I mean, even the avatars are a type of recognition to link a name, then a location, and how long the seller`s been on this site.It just feels like Ebay or some other classified from outside a closed community.Familiarity is crucial,I think, here to encourage buying & selling.I really think this will hurt more than help.I know no one asked, but that`s my $.02.

Re: Classifieds question

OK, guess I'll throw in my $.02 as well.

I agree that the new format does offer some advantages, and that it takes time to iron out the bugs and get used to the changes.

Having said that I must also say that thus far I still perfer the old format much better. I have to agree with Special-K that it is less user friendly, harder to navigate, and has lost a great deal of the appeal. I have posted several threads for selling parts and find it necessary to go back time after time to see if anyone has replied since the last time I checked.

My intent is not to bash the great work done on this site, it's members, information, and community have been wonderful, unlike any other site I have come across. Josh and the crew do an outstanding job. But as others have noted, feedback, familiarity, and helpful suggestions are offered to help maintain one of our favorite online havens.
