My 75 2wd blazer

I'm very glad that you asked that. It's been slow slow going for the shear fact that it get's very cold trying to do any wrenching in snow storms. One day I will have the garage that I dream of. On a happier note though it is starting to get warmer here with spring coming. I want to drive her around the block so bad. So I have the 350 in and now just need to start putting everything back on the motor and hook the tranny lines up. Here are a couple of shots of the motor and a freshly painted tilt column.I figure get her running and work out any kinks and then comes the drop(3 inch spindles maybe 1 inch coils up front and a flip with a notch out back.

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

Thanks! The blazer doesn't have the 454 though, I put the 350 in the blazer. THe 454 is in my silver chev. And I can't wait to see what it will do. While I have been trapped inside b/c of cold snow I am have been collecting parts to put on them both. I have a 73 grill with hardware to put it on. I also picked up a edelbrock air gap the big block. I am very excited to get all the stuff that I have been collecting put on.

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

Ok so it's been forever since I have updated and that is b/c progress is slow. But I have made some headway. I changed out the drivers door, put new locks in, actually did an inventory of the parts that I got. Need to run new tranny lines and hook up the odds and ends in the motor then license and drive. I have two better original fenders for it and of course the drop spindles and flip kit(maybe this winter).I know the doors are off color but they beat the burnt orange drivers and red passenger.

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

Been a while since I have updated this thread. So I got all the kinks worked out of the drop and am very happy with the results. I just have to iron out a few kinks so that I can take it down and see if I can pass safety and emissions. Then the top and roll bar are coming off!!!

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

Got a little ambitious last night so I thought it would be a good time to share. Top off and roll bar out. Found some rust that I didn't know about but cruizin to work this morning with no top put such a smile on my face. Still got a big list of things that need to be done. Next thing up is clearance the a arms so I can run my aluminum wheels.

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

Thanks! Got stuck in a nasty thunderstorm when i tried to leave work. I live 10-15 minutes away so I decided to chill under one of natures umbrellas, a tree. After about 45 minutes it let up and I barely got wet so all in all still worth it, cause drivin it down the road in it just puts a grin on my face.

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

i bet, i miss my full vert blazer. mine was 79 but i found a 74 donor to convert it over. held on to that truck for 6yrs after i stopped driving it. had planned on doing my first body drop on it, cut the floor, let it lay flat on the dirt, took a few pics......then left for the army. came back and it was just too far gone to attempt a revival on. but im stll looking, somethin will pop up when i dont have the money lol

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

I used to pull the top off of my '75 in April, and put it back on in October. I still miss that old truck. It rusted to a poor, pitiful death.

Re: Got my 75 2wd blazer 4 $800

Well the time came to put the top back on. But fortunately with the help from a good buddy I got the two spots on the bedrails cut out and patch paneled in. Now I realize that I need to insulate and carpet to cut the noise down some. Excited to get the rest of the tires mounted on my new to me wheels. What do ya think? Decided to leave the roll bar out for now but we'll see maybe a 3-4"chop would make it more appealing to me. It was also very handy to have my father in law over for a bbq to enlist his help in lifting the top back on and sealing it back up. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten out of bed the next morning.
