Dash bar

This is the dash bar that goes from the firewall to the bottom of the dash at the steering column, at least most of one, the ends rusted off, but that isn't the question.

I have a good one and I had to drive the bolts out of the firewall end to get it into the 48, but it fits right in there now and can be bolted in properly.

The 54 is different. I don't see the two holes in the firewall for this bar. The firewall has not been welded up, so what gives. Does the 54 not have the bar that runs from the firewall to the steering column cut out between the gauges?

Thanks.

Re: Dash bar

Not a 54 ,but my 55.1 has 2 3/8 rods from the firewall that come to the dash at the steering column mount
They're in kind of a v pattern..
Id think they'd be the same...

Re: Dash bar

Thanks Greg. That hleps.

Now I have to find a picture or something to show me. Maybe LMC will have a diagram. I'll start looking for them there.

The chassis assembly manual shows those rods.

Re: Dash bar

Thanks.

I looked them up and then sorted through a box of parts and there they were.
